COUNTRY MUSIC FANS HAVE REASON TO GIVE BLOOD
August 27, 2009 – The American Red Cross is offering an opportunity to win Taylor Swift concert tickets to anyone who presents to donate blood this summer. Take some time out of your day to give blood, save lives, and register to win concert tickets. Summit Medical Center is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, September 3, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Classrooms D and E on the ground floor of the hospital (near the Visitor Entrance). Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. There is always a need for blood and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community.
Anyone who presents to donate blood between August 24 and September 9 may register to win a pair of concert tickets to the Taylor Swift concert at the Sommet Center in Nashville on Saturday, September 12. Two winners will each receive a pair of concert tickets by random drawing on Sept. 10. By spending just one hour giving blood this summer, you can help save up to three lives and have the opportunity to see Taylor Swift live in concert. This summer, the American Red Cross is giving you one more reason to give blood…free concert tickets!
Donors must be in general good health, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be at least 17 years old (16 with completed Parental Consent Form). Please bring your donor card or photo ID. Please allow approximately 60 minutes for the entire blood donation process. Appointments are encouraged. Walk-in donors are welcome; however, those with appointments will be given priority.
